Introducing Jay Scaife - Executive Chef

Windermere House proudly introduces Jay Scaife, Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage services.  Jay is an honors graduate from the esteemed George Brown culinary program.  We recruited Jay back to Muskoka from the sunny Bahamas, where he had just opened an upscale restaurant.  Previously, Jay had been part of the culinary team at leading restaurants such as La Mer, the Left Bank and Wildfire. His other career highlights include a  July 2003 guest appearance at the world famous James Beard Foundation in New York City, and teaching at the Institute of Culinary Education and the French Culinary Institute in New York City.  Jay welcomes the opportunity to showcase his talents this summer in our exclusive Rosseau Grill, sleek new lobby bar and our popular pub.

The Cottages at Windermere House

Familiar Faces Await Your Arrival

Our history goes beyond the age of our hotel - it's also recognized in the many years of service some of our loyal employees have devoted to Windermere House.  Our Group Coordinator, Jeff Brown, enters his 19th year at the resort.  Richard Loader, our Facilities Manager, returns for his 14th year.  Other familiar faces include Arlene Reville, Rooms Division Manager, and Bev Longhurst, our Head Housekeeper.  This team of resort professionals are currently recruiting the best and brightest seasonal employees to deliver on our commitment of providing outstanding customer service this summer.
