For Immediate Release
-Windermere, ON - The 2010 G8 Summit is not the only Muskoka
event that will have an international flavour this summer
- at Windermere House Resort, every day brings a celebration
of enjoying fine foods from across the globe.
No other resort in Muskoka offers such an incredible range
of dining options. A fresh sushi luncheon on Windermere
House's storied verandah transports patrons to Asia. A
Friday night ale in the Pub 'n Patio beckons thoughts of
England. Homemade breads rival those made by a skilled
baker in France, and home made charcuterie brings a tour
of Europe To Muskoka. As for the gardens of Ontario
vegetarian entrees - they make guests remember all that is
great about Ontario.
"We believe that dining in cottage country should not be
about compromise, nore should it be intimidating" says Executive
Chef, Jay Scaife. "We offer an in-depth selection of international
cuisine and local products that present a well rounded menu
to Windermere House guests".
Scaife is an innovative chef who constantly strives to introduce
new food and beverage services at Windermere House. New
in 2010 at the resort is an expanded selection of wines from
boutique Ontario winemakers, private label still and sparkling
waters, a healthy children's menu that emphasizes non fried
foods and a spa menu to complement WH The Spa, opening in
July. Scaife's goal is to maintain the Muskoka resort
dining experience cottage country visitors expect, and yet
provide unique and memorable dining experience at each of
the resort's four dining facilities.
Windermere House is home to The Rosseau Grill, which features
a smart casual lakeview dining experience. Then there
is the Windermere Pub and Patio, a favourite destination
for cottagers on the weekends. The Wasabi Sushi Cafe
is the only sushi restaurant on Lake Rosseau and features
fresh fish hand selected by the proprietors every week. And
finally, there is PJ's Lobby Bar, where casual fare and live
entertainment is available.
PJ's Lobby Bar is named for Paul Jeffery, a legend in the
Canadian hospitality industry. He is Founder and Past
Chairman of Kelsey’s International Inc., the parent
company of Kelsey’s Restaurants and Montana’s
Cookhouse and the Eastern Canada franchise holder for Outback
Restaurants. After 25 years, Paul had built Kelsey’s
International Inc. to 240 restaurants operating under the
three brands ─ with 14,500 employees doing $500 million
in annual sales. In 2002, Paul sold Kelsey’s International
to Cara Foods of Toronto with the intention of retiring. An
avid Muskoka cottager, Paul’s retirement plans were
short-lived when he discovered and purchased Windermere House
in December 2007. Since then he has led a stunning
renovation to the property and most recently introduced a
new development there - The Cottages at Windermere House,
an exclusive fractional ownership develoment of 12 luxury
three-bedroom cottages on Lake Rosseau.
"Delivering an exceptional dining experience is much more
than just the food," observes Scaife. "It's about the entire
epackage - good wine and cocktails, swift service, and great
selection - all crafted in a spectacular
setting. This is what we love to do at Windermere
House".
